After teaching German at several US universities, I taught English and American Studies in Germany at Freiburg University and then Marburg University for 29 years until my retirement. I raised two children as a single parent and am now a grandmother. I strongly support the work of the UNFPA and their commitment to maternal and child health.

For over 20 years I have volunteered at the Weltladen (fair trade store) in Marburg, Germany. I enjoy nature, cultural activities, and singing in a political choir.
